First Line Fridays

I just finished reading a book by Michelle Griep, so I wanted to highlight her new book that is being published in June.  Of course, June is just around the corner!  I am so excited that summer is almost here--it is my favorite time of the year.  I love the warm days that summer brings along with the bright colors and flip-flop weather.  What is your favorite season?  Let me know why you love that time of the year in the comments below.  Happy reading friends!

Grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first line!

Today I am going to post a line from:

  The Noble Guardian
by Michelle Griep

And the first line is...

Southampton, England, 1815

"Was it wicked to say goodbye with a smile?"

Happy reading and happy Friday!

Let me know your first line in the comments & then head over to Hoarding Books to see who else is participating!

  2. Happy Friday!

Today on my blog I am sharing the first couple of lines from Becoming Us by Robin Jones Gunn: https://christianfictiongirl.blog/2019/05/23/first-line-friday-88/. It’s the first book I’ve ever read by this author. So far I like it. I’m just getting into it, so I will share the first line from chapter 2 here.

“I returned to the great room and saw Jennalyn standing next to the kitchen counter.”

I hope you have a really great weekend. Happy reading! 🤗💜📚

  3. Oh, I like that first line! Can't wait to read this. I always enjoy Michelle Griep's writing.

I'm sharing from A Modest Independence by Mimi Matthews today. Here is the first line from Chapter 10:

"Jenny stood on the deck of the Indus, watching the ancient city of Alexandria come into view."

    Happy Friday!

  4. I really like this line! It starts the book off on a very intriguing note!

On my blog I shared the first line from Mandi Blake's Just As I am, but I thought I'd share the first line here of what I'm currently reading which is It's a Love Story by Lincee Ray:

"I remember the first time I fell in love."

  6. Happy Weekend! My first line is from "The Black Veil" by June Belfie:

"Rebecca Gingerich rested her hands on the the deep milk-white sill of the kitchen window and peered out from the clapboard farmhouse she'd been born in nearly twenty-three years ago to the day."

  7. I'm looking forward to reading this very soon!

My first line this week comes from Flight of the Raven by Morgan L. Busse, but I'm also listening to Great Expectations by Charles Dickens in audio book format at the moment, so I'm going to share the first line from Chapter 51:

What purpose I had in view when I was hot on tracing out and proving Estella's parentage, I cannot say.

    Have a great weekend!

  8. Sorry I'm a little late coming around this weekend! The book I shared on my blog this week is Vigilant by Sara Davison but it's also the book I'm currently reading so I'll share the first line from my current chapter (22) here: "Daniel stared at the computer screen like he'd been doing for hours, his mind racing." Hope you have a wonderful weekend with plenty of quality reading time! :)
