First Line Fridays

I hope everyone had a lovely week!  How was your Labor Day?  Hopefully you were able to relax with family and friends.  :)  The weather is still pretty warm here, but the leaves are already beginning to fall from some of the trees.

Summer will always be my favorite season, but I do love the pumpkin goodies that are being added to the shelves at the grocery store.  Have you ever tried pumpkin coffee?  It is my absolute favorite!  It is the perfect addition to any book.  :)  Happy reading everybody!

Grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first line!

Today I am going to post a line from:

  An Unforseen Match
by Regina Jennings

And the first line is...

Dry Gulch, Texas
Late Summer 1893

"Grace O'Malley heaved her last box of belongings onto the table and peered inside, forgetting it did her little good."

Happy reading and happy Friday!

Let me know your first line in the comments & then head over to Hoarding Books  to see who else is participating!

  1. Happy Friday! My first line is from How to Make Victoria Sponge by Margaret Kazmierczak.

"Monday, six-fifteen in the morning and the alarm wakes me up for a new day."

  2. I like Regina Jennings very much! Will have to check this novel out. On my blog, I'm featuring "Engaging the Competition" by Melissa Jagears. Hope you will stop by to check it out. Wishing you a great weekend!

  3. Oh, I need to reread this novella collection. It has been much too long.

I’m featuring Michelle Griep’s new novella, A Tale of Two Hearts, on my blog today. Here is the second line:

“Closing her eyes, she savored the warmth and the first line to a new adventure, as was her wont whenever Miss Whymsy stopped by and lent her a book."

    Happy Friday!

  4. I have not tried pumpkin coffee, but I also don't like coffee in general so that's my excuse lol.
The Book I'm sharing on my blog this week is A Love Restored by Kelly Goshorn but I'm currently reading The Abolitionist's Daughter by Kathleen Maher so I'll share the first line of that here: "The wrong ideas could get a head--and a body--into a heap of trouble." Hope you have a great weekend with plenty of quality reading time! :)
