Grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first line!

Today I am going to post a line from:

  The Widow and the Highlander
by Martha Keyes

And the first line is...

West Inverness-shire, Scotland 1762

"The only warmth in the library at Dunverlockie Castle emanated from the teacup Christina MacKinnon held in her hand."

Happy reading and happy Friday!

  1. Hello! 😀 Today on my blog I'm sharing the first line from Summertime Lilies by LM Karen: https://christianfictiongirl.blog/2021/06/04/first-line-friday-185/. I'm currently reading The Seat Filler by Sariah Wilson so I'll share a line from there. "I made it to my appointment despite the fact that I was exhausted because I barely slept." Hope you have a great weekend! 😀❤📚

  2. Happy Friday! My first line is from "Sticks and Stone" by David James Warren:

"The pieces of two lives sit in my brain like they should fit together, but no matter how hard I press, I can't get them to line up."

  5. I have not heard of this book. My first line is: "She'd Run Away. Rather than face him at the altar, she had taken her lady's maid, ordered a carriage and run away." It's from All Arranged by Meredith Resce.
