First Line Fridays

I know it is not Christmas; however, I just ordered this book from Amazon, and I am so excited to read it.  This is one of those books you make a mental note to purchase after the holidays, since all of your extra cash is going toward buying gifts for your family and friends.  :)  I have not read any books by this author, but I love mysteries, and cozy mysteries are always fun to read.  As always, please be sure to check out the book lines from these other amazing bloggers too:

Sydney from Singing Librarian
Rachel from Bookworm Mama
Andie from Radiant Light
Katie from Fiction Aficionado
Kathleen from Kathleen Denly
Lauraine from Lauraine's Notes

Today I am going to post a line from:

Better off Thread
by Amanda Lee

And the first line is...

"I locked the door to the Seven-Year-Stitch, my embroidery specialty shop, walked over to the sit-and-stitch square, and slumped onto the sofa facing away from the window.  My gray Irish wolfhound, Angus, flopped onto the floor beside me and heaved a sigh."

Happy reading and Happy Friday!

  1. Happy Friday! My first line is: “For a moment she couldn’t breathe, and then the barest whisper passed her lips – half spontaneous praise half simple awe. ‘Oh my… I’ve found Paradise!’ ” From Spring Raine by Delia Latham

  2. HE IS WORTHY

Honor the Lord you heavenly beings: honor the Lord for his glory and strength. Honor the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. Psalm 29:1-2

I HAVE FLOWN A LOT OF MILES in the past twenty years, so not surprisingly, I take many things about the experience for granted. From Worship Changes Everything by Darlene Zschech

  4. Such a cute cover! I don't think that I have actually read any Christmas stories. One, maybe? I have a few on my sisters' shelves that I want to read. ;)

  5. More and more I am finding myself enjoying these kind of cozy mystery books. And thanks to BookBub I am finding a lot of them for free - have to save all my pennies for my history books, you know. Happy Saturday!

    1. Cozy mysteries are some of my favorite books to read. After reading so many collegiate books, it's nice to read something a bit more relaxing. :) If you are looking for some new books to read in this genre, I highly recommend the tea shop mysteries by Laura Childs.
