A New Adventure!

Good afternoon everyone!  I hope that you are having a lovely day on this sunny cold Friday.  Does that even make sense?  How can it be sunny and cold at the same time?  Well, in the temperamental state of Georgia, the weather can fluctuate all over the place.

Ok, so after my weather rant, let me get back to the purpose of this blog.  My name is Heather, and I am beginning a wonderful adventure.  An adventure that I would like for you take with me.  I am in the process of becoming a writer.  I know what you are thinking.  How do you become a writer?  Well, I graduated college with my BA in English and Secondary Education and with my MA in English.  After much prayer and experience, I have decided not to become a teacher (like everyone assumed I would pursue) but to become a writer.

Of course when I tell people that I want to be a writer, they look at me like I have lobsters crawling all over my face.  There was a Christmas Story reference for all of you film buffs out there.  You know who you are (one just happens to be one of my best friends).  Just remember, all good films come from good books-who were written by good authors.  :)  Anyway, like I was saying, people tend to look at you like you are crazy as you embark on the starving artist path.  However, I have personally known several people who have followed this dream and have been successful at it.

So that is where I come in.  With the Lord's help, I plan to be successful with this gift the Lord has given to me.  Hopefully, I will be the Jane Austen of the 21st century.  :)

Thank you in advance for your support!

Heather :)

  1. So excited for you! This blog is beautiful!

Confession: I have never seen A Christmas Story. The filming, the styles, and the colors in the commercial looked so ugly to me when I was a kid, I never wanted to watch it, lol. I know I must be weird for that, but there it is. :D I may have to watch it now to find out what the deal is about the lobsters! :)

    1. Yes, you have to see A Christmas Story! Through the years, it has become a Christmas classic. :) Once you see it, let me know what you think.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words!
